There are quite a few books out right now on parenting in other cultures - french (bringing up bebe), chinese (battle hymn of the tiger mother) and of course there are thousands upon thousands of parenting in the western culture. If you type in parenting in an amazon search over 45,000 paperback books come up. How can you know what is best for your child in the long run? What are your thoughts?
